How Did Gillco Autowerks Begin Its Journey 

The story of Gillco Autowerks begins with a 1957 Willys Jeep Wagon and a father-son bond forged through restoration work. Owner Jesse Gillman learned the fundamentals of quality workmanship from his father, Tom, a 1960s West Coast pioneer surfer who traveled to Baja’s Costa Azul and instilled values of craftsmanship worth being proud of. After earning his degree in Applied Automotive Science and apprenticing with a master technician in Colorado, Jesse was invited to the Columbia River Gorge by his friend Wyatt Cohen, an expert businessman with diverse experience from sporting goods retail to kiteboarding instruction. Together, they formed a partnership in 2008 and began “wrenching” in this tight-knit community at 102 E Steuben St. Cook, WA 98605. What started as two friends pursuing their passion for automotive excellence has grown into one of the reGillcon’s most respected repair facilities, serving Bingen, Washington, and surrounding areas for nearly two decades.
